The diploma project presents a comprehensive urban-planning and architectural solution for a residential quarter on the Karpovka River embankment in the Petrogradsky District of Saint Petersburg. The proposal creates a new sectional residential complex (a riverside housing quarter on Karpovka) that respectfully continues the street pattern and historical context of the Petrograd side while introducing contemporary standards of comfortable urban living. The architectural composition is oriented toward the embankment: facades and building sections are arranged to secure favorable apartment views, a coherent building rhythm, and a clear system of inner courtyards. The planning concept combines optimal apartment typologies, flexible sectional layouts, and a well-considered network of public spaces — promenades, small architectural forms, and neighborhood services. The project resolves the task of revitalizing a former industrial area and transforming it into a lively, modern model quarter in Saint Petersburg.
