A comprehensive school for 550 students in Saint Petersburg demonstrates a high-quality transformation of standard repeatable design documentation. The architectural team completely replanned the internal structure of the building, adapting the classrooms to modern regulations, taking into account strict daylight factor (DF) requirements and solar orientation, while ensuring independent zoning for primary and high school student flows.
The main focus of the project is on creating a unique architectural appearance and bespoke interiors. The complex massing of the facades is built on the play of light and shadow, the contrast between the orthogonal volumes of the educational wings and the fluid, curved surfaces of the central insertion, emphasized by the cantilevered volume of the circular auditorium. The curtain wall system architecture is enriched with individual slanted piers and textured decorative bands. The developed interior design, featuring fluid multi-level ceilings and customized color navigation for classrooms, the canteen, and the sports block, conceptually extends the building's exterior architecture.
